Leicester College Recording Session
The Heart Of England Chorus were invited by Leicester College to perform at their recording studio, to enable students there to gain experience of sound recording and post mixing of a live vocal chorus.

It’s fair to say the Chorus found the evening very challenging. They sang a total of eleven songs, each song twice (one rehearsal and the ‘final’ take) in what amounted to a sound proofed, sonically ‘dead’ room.
Barbershop singers of course, rely heavily on each hearing each other’s voice in order to develop the distinctive harmonies they produce. Not being able to hear each other’s voice particularly well therefore, meant they had to be very careful to stay in tune and harmonise perfectly.
You can judge for yourself how the event went by reading Paul’s blog and hear for yourself how they sound and see in more detail how the CD was finally put together.
You can also hear samples from the session on our downloads page.
Once again, the Chorus would like to say thank you to the Leicester College for the recordings and the CD.....great work lads!
